Sarah McLeod @ Lizzote’s
Known to many as the lead singer of rock band, The Superjesus, Sarah McLeod has been extremely busy since achieving recognition as a solo artist.
As one of Australia’s most successful women in rock, she has continued to explore her talents becoming a successful artist, performer, songwriter and producer within the genres of rock, pop and dance.
With the ability of her music to transcend genres McLeod’s international success has since seen her achieve hits in the official charts within Australia, the UK, Eastern Europe, and the US.
In between launching her latest project, Screaming Bikini, and performing at the Playboy Mansion, Sarah has spent most of the past 12 months performing acoustic shows throughout Australia.

Bastille Degustation @ Bimbadgen Estate
For those looking for any excuse to indulge in some French cuisine Bimbadgen Estate is celebrating Bastille Day this weekend.
Executive Chef Ebonnie Newby has created a 6 course degustation of fine French cuisine including French onion soup, braised oxtail and Gruyere cheese croute- Yum!

Elisa Kate @ Bar Petite
Having just released her new album to a packed out crowd here in Newcastle, singer/songwriter from Bulahdelah Elisa Kate is set to perform at Bar Petite this Friday.
Her 2nd release showcases sweet new sounds packed full of surprise, dreamy melodies, atmosphere and hope.
Described as a mix of Adele and the jazz sensation Diana Krall, Elisa Kate’s unique style presents an unforgettable and moving experience.

Saturday 14th July
Newy parkrun @ Carrington
Newy parkrun is a weekly 5km event for runners of all fitness levels that takes place every Saturday at 8am from Tully St, Carrington.
Although this is not a race against other runners, it is timed allowing you to keep track of your progress each week.
To take part in the event all you need to do is register online and print out your unique barcode which records your time and rank.
For those who have time to spare after the event there is a weekly catch up at The Source Cafe where you can refuel with a coffee.

Marisah May @ Red Threads
Artist Marisah May is having a print sale and website launch at the Red Threads store at Charlestown Square this weekend.
In what will be the first of a series of pop –up events in the store Marisah May will be showcasing her beautiful illustrations.
By visiting Red Threads this weekend and purchasing Marisah’s prints you will not only be supporting Australian artists but also the Red Cross, who will receive 30% of all proceeds.

Sambafrog @ Lizzote’s
It’s cold outside but hot at Lizotte’s this Saturday night with Sambafrog, a fun filled night with Brazilian Rhythms, choreographed dance and percussion as well as a South American inspired menu!

Karnivool @ Newcastle Panthers
Following on from the huge success of their second studio album, Sound Awake, Karnivool embarked on a 3 year tour that saw them play all over the globe.
Since Karnivools last Australian tour a year ago the band members have taken some time out to put together material for their third album which they will showcase throughout their Melodias Frescas tour before heading back to the studio.
Also in the works is Karnivool’s forthcoming DVD featuring material from festivals they played in the Netherlands and Mumbai.

Exhibition @ Nobbys Lighthouse
Nobbys lighthouse is having a community open day this Sunday where you can check out the grounds of the lighthouse and an exhibition in the old signal masters cottage.
In one of Newcastle’s most historical landmarks you can view the reproductions of Newcastle’s drawings, paintings and photographs which provide an original perspective of the city throughout history.
Open from 10am -4pm you can enjoy a little culture as well as some exercise for free!
Mundine v McKart @ Wests
You can catch the Jnr Middleweight Fight between Mundine and McKart at Wests this Sunday at Wests as it is broadcast live from the Palms Casino, Las Vegas.
