What’s on in Newcastle This Week: Deep Sea Arcade, Raid My Wardrobe and Simple Plan
There is plenty going on this week, and may I add, a little something for everyone! Your weekly lineup includes the hugely popular Simple Plan, incredibly skilled acoustic musicians at Lizotte’s, Deep Sea Arcade, a bit of 90’s magic with S Club as well as a dose of punk rock from the Flatliners.

Acoustic Guitar Spectacular @ Lizzote’s
Ease into the weekend early at Lizotte’s with solo and combined performances from three highly acclaimed guitarists Michael Fix, Robbie Long and Andrea Valeri.
Gifted composer, producer and guitarist Michael Fix has released 10 albums over the last 20 years and is known to be one of Australia’s best guitarists, boasting 3 Golden Guitars and amazing fretboard wizardry.
Also performing is Robbie Long who, described by Rhythms magazine as, ‘undoubtedly one of the country’s finest flatpickers…’, has also toured extensively throughout Europe, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.
And for the first time in Australia is Italian prodigy, Andrea Valeri, who, at 20 years old, is already an acoustic festival veteran and known as the prince of fingerstyle guitar.

Deep Sea Arcade @ The Cambridge Hotel
The success of Deep Sea Arcade is set to rise even further this June as the band begin their national tour upon the release of their debut album, Outlands.
Playing at the Cambridge this Friday night the band already have a strong fan base in addition to the support of industry critics who describe Outlands as, ‘a record brimming with glorious ideas, attention demanding melodies and hits,’ –Fasterlouder.
Amongst the accolades Outlands has been chosen as a feature album on Triple J, FBi, 2SER and SYN FM with Radar, Drum Media and The Brag honouring it with the prestigious, Album of the Week, title.
Having already toured with Children Collide the Deep Sea Arcade’s support has continued to grow with plans to join the Kaiser Chiefs in May.

Mark Wells CD Launch @ Lizzote’s
After 18 months recording his first full- length album, born and bred Novocastrian Mark Wells and his seven piece band is back in town to promote, The Long Walk Home, at Lizzote’s this Friday.
Following his success at the Telstra Road to Tamworth in 2008, where he was awarded the Songwriter’s Prize, Wells has worked in Nashville Tennessee with some of the top US country music artists.

S Club Big Brovaz @ Newcastle Panthers
Is it too soon to be revisiting the 90’s? Perhaps, but if you’re feeling nostalgic S Club and special guests Big Brovaz are bringing their 90’s revival tour to Newcastle Panthers this Saturday.
After achieving teen sitcom stardom, with over 90 million viewers worldwide, several hit singles including Bring It All Back, a double platinum album, a BRIT Award, and several failed solo careers S Club are back!
Joining the English pop group is RnB collective Big Brovaz, who are responsible for several hit singles throughout Europe, New Zealand and Australia, including a rework from the Sound of Music fim, Favourite Things.

Raid My Wardrobe @ Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium
This year the fashion forward at Raid My Wardrobe have organised the biggest and greenest pre-loved shopping event in Newcastle.
Following last year’s success Raid My Wardrobe is celebrating their 2nd birthday with over 45 stalls stocking hundreds of high quality second hand women’s clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories.

Flatliners @ Cambridge Hotel
Having spent 30 months of the past four years on the road, punk -rock band the Flatliners have toured their way through Japan, North America, Europe and finally to the Cambridge Hotel here in Newcastle.
With a firm commitment to touring and cementing a solid fan base the Flatliners have hit their stride upon the release of their third album, Cavalcade, which has been described as tribute to the sacrifices they have made in the name of creativity and punk rock.
After seven tireless years their hard work has paid off with an impressive list of guest appearances from A Wilhelm Scream, Dillinger Four, The Snips, Junior Battles, Permanent Bastards, and the Expos, not to mention their childhood hero punk veteran, Fat Mike.
