Martin has been working with Dawn for the past 12 months on her debut album– the product of an unlikely artist / producer collaboration between a playful folk and world music singer and the dark and brooding Tea Party front man. Dawn and her fellow renegades form a high-energy ensemble, delivering hypnotic vocals, intricately textured sound and an exotic “East meets West” neo-Victorian aesthetic. This is an 18+ event.

A show where the audience plays the main part in forming the set list for the night - they decide on the song choices forming a ‘tailored set’. How it works: Guests receive a list upon entry allowing them to personally select the songs they wish to hear.  The set list for the evening then gets formulated based on these choices and the the performance starts! Song choices will span from the first album “Johnny Diesel & The Injectors” (1989) through to “Under The Influence” (2011), along with new titles from his forthcoming album due for release 2013, and picks from some of Diesels favourite artists - Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix & Otis Redding to name just a few. The idea of letting the audience ‘hand pick’ the songs makes for a spontaneous night of select music. With a career spanning over 2 decades, twelve albums and a swag of ARIA awards, Diesel is ‘tailor made’ for such a night!

A Touring Print Exhibition with 50 artists from Newcastle Printmakers Workshop and Warringah Printmakers Studio working across all techniques of print that will include lithography, etching, screen printing, lino and wood cuts.

The exhibition Marked by Water offers a unique opportunity for some 50 artists from Newcastle Printmakers Workshop (NPW) and Warringah Printmakers Studio to express their ideas via print media. Linked by similar environments – their studios’ proximity to water – these artists pay homage to the importance of harbours and waterways in the life of their two cities and to the important role water plays in printmaking processes. Environmental concerns feature significantly as dry, cracked river beds are juxtaposed against flooding valleys, highlighting the diversity of the Australian landscape.

The exhibition will open Friday 14th June at Curve Gallery Newcastle and then tour to Sydney for the opening at Warringah Printmakers Studio Gallery in July.
