Hard Ons @ The Cambridge
Having recovered substantially from a well-publicised incident, Peter “Blackie” Black will take his band The Hard-ons back on the road in Australia in November and December!
Hard-ons’ irresistible march around Australia was abruptly halted back in March due to the said incident. Blackie has since recovered well, in no small part due to the support of the Hard-ons’ fans and the underground musical community here and abroad. Now, having undertaken tours to Japan and Europe already, the legendary trio will take their shows for the first time since Blackie’s recovery to their motherland.
Tucked under their arms are the juicy reissues SMELL MY FINGER and DICKCHEESE, two powerhouse double cd sets that were overdue for their lush and pristine remaster/reissue treatments! Songs from both of these reissues will be showcased live - in many cases, for the first time in twenty years!
Please attend one of these shows of the unstoppable Hard-ons. An ear-blasting night of rampaging punk, metal and bubble-gum pop will be guaranteed for all!

After The Fall @ The Great Northern
NSW Central Coast’s favourite sons After The Fall return triumphant in 2012, with hard won fourth album ‘Bittersweet’ and some serious lessons under their collective belt.
The pop-rock quartet were one of the most successful acts to emerge from the ripe Central Coast punk/rock scene in the mid-00’s, tunes like ‘Mirror, Mirror’ and ‘Concrete Boots’ were radio and live staples for the band, who toured constantly around Australia, garnered much love from triple j and played almost every major festival this wide brown land has to offer.
After the Fall have spent the years since 2009’s ‘[In] Exile’, writing with eight feet planted firmly on the ground. Addition of mate Adrian on the skins injected long-lost excitement and (importantly) fun back into ATF. Ensuing songwriting brought back the energy, punch and anger of times past that had made them into formidable live presence. Mostly recorded in houses that guitarist Mark Warner was house-sitting (booya, free electricity!), at their own pace, an image of four blokes recording long hours, sweating in our in their undies isn’t too far from reality.
Made by the band, for the band, armed with some hindsight and the wisdom of a band that has endured tougher times, ‘Bittersweet’ is that indeed. It’s the sound of a band taking their own advice, confident in their direction and discretion. What this album, and the future holds for After the Fall remains to be seen, but in their eyes it’s already a success.

Kid Rockers @ Rosie’s School of Rock
They’re polishing the drum kits, plugging in the amps and selecting their favourite Bart Simpson guitar picks in anticipation for what will be the greatest rock show of their young lives. On Sunday 2nd December over 300 “Kid Rockers” from Rosie’s School of Rock will take to the Stage at Souths Leagues Club to participate in what will be for many of them the 1st rock gig they have attended-let alone performed at.
“We’re giving ‘em the complete Rock Show Experience” says Craig “Rosie” Rosevear principal of the School of Rock. “We’ve brought in the loudest PA in town, smoke machines and a light show that would rival a Kiss concert. The only thing that will be different will be the backstage experience - strictly soft drinks and chips” says Rosie.
The students from Rosie’s School of Rock have been rehearsing a wide repertoire for the show which ranges from classic rock such as AC/DC and Led Zeppelin through to current favourites such as LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem . We don’t just chords and scales we teach the Kids to get on stage and perform Rock songs. This gives kids a great boost to their confidence not just in music but in life. I just hope none of the kids decide to set their guitars on fire” laughs Rosie.

Toy Run @ Griffith Park - Newcastle Foreshore
The Newcastle Bikers Toy Run is the oldest and longest running toy run in Australia. In 2012 we will be conducting our 34rd Toy Run. Over this period of time the run has grown from originally 25 Motorcycles commencing in Civic Park and ending at Woodlands Boys Home. Now under the auspices of “Bikers for Kids” the run attracts up to 5000 motorcycles of all makes & descriptions, from the Hunter region and even as far away as Queensland.
We encourage participation by any and all motorcyclists and even have contingents of bikes from Australia Post, and Scooter clubs. The Toy Run has had strong community support with all proceeds being donated to the Salvation Army specifically for the underprivileged children and their families in the region at Christmas. These toys are part of the Christmas assistance given to some 1200 families within the immediate region.
Our objective for the Salvation Army Toy Run is to make it a regular attraction and feature for Newcastle. In 2005 the Toy Run was presented with the Australia Day Award by the Newcastle City Council for the Newcastle 2005 Community Event of the Year. Our mission is to annually increase the donations of money, toys and food to The Salvation Army, while simultaneously ensuring an incident free event for all participants.
We believe that close consultation, cooperation and participation of Newcastle City Council, the Police, the RTA and the Toy Run Committee is essential for us to achieve our objective. All members of the organising committee donate their time and resources at no expense to the Toy Run. Last year saw Toys to the value of $25,000 and a sum of $48,000 donated through this event.
