Mrs Porter's House
A visit to Mrs Porters house is starting to become a Mother's day tradition in Newcastle. The house contains a century’s worth of memorabilia to the lives of Florence Porter, and her daughters Ella and Hazel: photographs, clothes, needlework, furnishings, furniture, and other household goods. This year, there will be a special focus on an exhibition of tea sets. The house will be open from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday the 13th of May. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children over 5 years and pensionners. Entry is free for children under 5 years as well as National Trust Members.
Merewether Surfhouse
The surfhouse Restaurant will be open for lunch, offering amazing views as well as a nice and relaxing atmosphere. The perfect Mother's Day treat. Snows Patisserie
Don't know where to take your mum for mother's day? Treat her to a breakfast or lunch at the new Snows Patisserie in Marketown. There is a beautiful outside area to sit where you can enjoy the last few nice days before winter. Book in for two people for lunch or breakfast and you will receive a free 5inch cake !
Newcastle City Farmers Markets
Missed out on booking a table for mother's day? Make the most of the predicted sunny weather by visiting the Newcastle City Farmers Markets. With a cup of Australian Estate Coffee you and your family can stroll leisurely through the markets and sample the offerings of local growers and producers. With the likes of Oyster Direct, Draytons Family Wines, Bills Organic Bakery and the Hunter Valley Pasta Co. there's enough delicious choice to create your own mother’s day picnic lunch! Located at Broadmeadow Showground the Newcastle City Farmers Markets are open 8am till 1pm.
