Hunter Valley Wine And Food Month!
The much-anticipated Hunter Valley Wine & Food Month will kick off next month with more than 80 intimate experiences to tempt wine and food lovers, including celebrity appearances by My Kitchen Rules guest judge Colin Fassnidge, top chef Matt Kemp and media personality Tracey Spicer to name a few.
It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the Hunter Valley way of life and join winemakers and chefs at their favourite restaurants, sample the region’s premium wine and gourmet food, stay in one of the top hotels and resorts and cozy up by the fire. If you’re looking for the ultimate winter getaway with an indulgent theme, Hunter Valley Wine & Food Month is for you.
Throughout June a series of intimate experiences are themed under various categories, including The Winemakers Table Series, Pure Wine Indulgence, Riedel Masterclasses, Class is In, Winter Warmers, Edible Experience, Chef’s Plate Lunches, Wine Trails, Tours & Retreats, Olives and Olive Oil, and Wine & Art.

Here’s a taste of June’s spectacular line-up of events:
Wyndham Estate
Hunter Chefs and Co Annual Food Fight, Wyndham Estate -- 11am, Monday June 3, $140pp. The gloves are off for The Hunter Chefs & Co 4th annual Food Fight. This year, the Hunter region 'Masters' take on the 'Young Guns'. To keep the competition fair and interesting, Sydney chefs Colin Fassnidge (MKR guest judge) and Matt Kemp mentor the younger chefs. Each team will create a three-course lunch with guests to decide which team's cuisine reigns supreme. Bookings essential!
The Vintage
Cork and Fork Golf Cup: The Vintage -- 9am, Saturday June 22, $165pp. Play alongside some of the Hunter Valley's renowned winemakers, legends and larrikins. Four person ambrose. 9am shotgun start. 18 holes with shared electric cart hire, on-course wine and food tastings.
Tempus Two
Women in Wine, Tempus Two -- 12pm for 12.30pm, Saturday June 22, $170pp. This special event held in the Tempus Two Barrel Room celebrates our many women in wine. Tracey Spicer hosts an indulgent luncheon of a beautiful fusion of food, fashion, fun and fine wine. Donations from wine sales will go to a selection of charities. Table of 10 $160pp.
The Beltree
The Winemakers Table Series - From Italy With Love: The Beltree -- 7pm, Friday June 7, $125pp. A modern Italian experience with chef Guy Parkinson and winemaker David Hook. Canapes and Pinot Grigio around the fire, followed by seasonal dishes featuring local and homegrown produce matched with David's Italian and Hunter Valley varietals.
First Creek Wines
Class Is In - The World In A Glass: First Creek Wines10.30am-1pm, Saturdays and Sundays, $50pp. A tutored tasting at First Creek Wines comparing key Hunter Valley varietals with benchmark wines from other Australian and French regions. Featuring over $600 of wine. Includes a wine production and winery tour with new vintage barrel tastings.
Waverley Estate
Pure Wine Indulgence - Guilt By Association: Waverley Estate -- 11.30am, Saturday June 8 & Saturday June 29, $30pp. On this gourmet cheese and wine experience, there's a culinary crime that requires the work of participants willing to become forensic tasters. Small teams will be assembled and given the task of grilling the suspects: local winemaker Michael Partridge and Binnorie cheesemaker Simon Gough as to the true identity of the guilty pleasures.
Whispering Brook
Edible Experience - Olive Long Table Luncheon: Whispering Brook -- 12-4pm, Saturday June 1, $95pp. A walking tour of the olive grove and vineyard is followed by a spectacular four-course olive-inspired long table lunch set in the estate's olive grove. Lunch includes matching Whispering Brook wine, live music and a guest speaker.
Hunter Valley Steakhouse
Steak & Shiraz Matching: Hunter Valley Steakhouse -- 5-6pm, Fridays & Saturdays, $15pp. The Hunter Valley Steakhouse offers the perfect steak and Shiraz matching experience. Sample three different steaks and Shiraz with the chef and winemaker providing tasting notes to assist you in choosing the best matches. You be the judge! .
Glandore Wines
Winter Warmers - Bonfire Under The Stars: Glandore Wines -- 6.30pm, Saturday June 8, $45pp/members/$50pp non members. Warm up beside a roaring bonfire and enjoy Hunter Valley Cheese Co. cheeses matched with Glandore red and fortified wines.
Peppers Convent
Devonshire Tea: Peppers Convent -- 11am-4pm, Daily, $12pp. The old world charm of Peppers Convent is the perfect location to enjoy an indulgent Devonshire tea. A selection of teas or espresso coffee served with freshly baked scones, clotted cream and Tower Estate Orchard jams.
