City Evolutions is a landmark contemporary art project featuring a series of interactive digital projections along Watt Street, Newcastle's oldest Street. Take a stroll through history as the projections capture the rich culture of Newcastle. The fascinating history coinciding with the stunning cultural precinct is 'seen in a new light' between sunset and 10pm each evening. This is a must do when in Newcastle!
The Civic Theatre
The Civic Theatre is one of Australia's most historic creative venues, designed by 1920's theatre architect Henry Eli White in his famous 'Spanish Baroque' style, a visit to the Civic Theatre is a must do and an unforgettable experience. Take in it's grand marble foyer and staircase, beautiful interiors and the historic main auditorium chandelier all of this is before you become part of the production on show that night. Picnic in King Edward Park

Warm up with some tantalising 'winter warmers' in one of the great restaurants Honeysuckle boasts. Take in the view all from the warmth of the restaurant, a great way to catch up with friends or watch the day pass by from a Newcastle perspective. If your up for it try a little bar hopping along Honeysuckle boardwalk. So many great little hideaways that all capture the harbour view, make sure you don't miss out!
Winter Heat Festival
The annual Winter L!vesites Winter Heat event is a magical night in Newcastle commencing at 6pm (This year on August 3rd 2013) when the festival will light up at sunset. A display of flaming sculptures, fiery street performances, live music and a new dazzling lantern parade will set Newcastle aglow. Held on the lawn of the Maritime Center the harbour backdrop complements the fiery glow where the fire log's line the promenade, fire sculptures keep away the winter chill and the surrounding candles really set off the ambiance.
