Pop! Fizzle! Bang! Sundae Fundaze is back again!

Sundae Fundaze

As the not-so-shy Spring rays dust off our cold winter skin, we realise with relish: the festival season is back! What could be better than relaxing in the sunshine with your best friends, listening to some pumping tunes with numerous chilled beverages on hand? But you don’t have to travel far and fork out hundreds to enjoy the festival experience this Spring…

Newcastle’s Sundae Fundaze is back and better than ever this Sunday at The Clarendon Hotel!

Sundae Fundaze exploded onto Newcastle’s music scene back in the summer of 2005 and has been growing in wild and exciting notoriety ever since, hosting such “big wigs behind the decks” as Kim from the Presets, the Bang Gang as well as international guests like Fake Blood.

This time around, Sydney-based headliner Cassion is up, and will be beating out a self-described “sex-romp of an EP that is a formation of all of his loves: House, Disco, Samples and a combination of all 3 bundled together” plus some cool pop remixes. Sydney musicians the Canyons will also be pumping some summer lovin’, self-described as “two musicians exploring a creative energy that could end up just about anywhere… a feverish series of frantic chords, and increasingly blurry blends of what’s live and programmed”. A few exciting local additions to the line-up include Fundaze favourite DAN CARES!, as well as DJs Menna and Dover.

Held in the bright and sunny beer garden at The Clarendon Hotel, a Sunday afternoon spent at Sundae Fundaze is always full of surprises and laughs. This season, the festival offers some quirky variations on past experiences. With eponymous sundaes to be circulating, cheeky slushies at the bar and refreshing sheets of mist to be falling from wires here and there, you’re sure to stay chilled and refreshed while you dance the afternoon away, getting sun-bleached and sound baked. Sundae Fundaze always go off with a bang, so be sure to grab your tickets and your sunnies, and definitely leave your heels at home – your feet will thank you come nightfall, trust me.

Tickets are available now, from Ramjet on Darby St or The Clarendon Hotel. $12 Presale, $15 at the door.
