One of the best pub-crawls Newcastle has to offer

With all of the different pubs and clubs in Newcastle it can be easy to fall into the rut of going to the same pubs every time and becoming sceptical of trying somewhere new. With all of the new and up and coming places in town you have to be crazy to not to try some of them, so we’ve devised a golden pub-crawl to ensure you get a better taste of what Newcastle’s nightlife has to offer.

If we start at the top end of the town and work our way down then the logical place to begin our epic night is the new addition to Newies nightlife, The Grain Store. The Grain Store offers a huge variety of beers from its 20 different taps and you can get a ‘paddle of beers’ which allows you to try 5 of them at a time. The vast variety of drinks means you can find the type you like and stick to it throughout the other bars.

Moving down towards the clubs and the next stop we have is The Queens Wharf Brewery. After you’ve had a catch-up with your friends and sampled a few unusual beers, the Brewery is a great place to throw the night into full swing. At this point in the night the Brewery wont be overly busy, so the line to get in should be small to nonexistent, and so should the line at the bar. The DJs will be dropping the popular tunes while adjusting their decks to keep everyone happy so it’s a good place to have an early night dance-off.

Don’t get to comfortable because we’re moving on to The Cambridge Hotel next. The Cambridge Hotel is a little bit of a trek, so flagging down a taxi to take you there is recommended. The Cambo at this point, depending on the time, shouldn’t have too much of a line up, but the line usually flows in relatively quickly. Inside you have a choice of three different bars and two dance floors, so now is the time to put what you practised at the Brewery into action.

To tie the night off we have a choice, Finnegans Hotel or the newly renovated Argyle House. Finnegans offers three dance floors, two of which are up the stairs and feature DJs and dance music. The third is down stairs and is more likely to be playing more popular music and has less of a nightclub feel. This would be your choice if you were looking to finish up the night with a good old-fashioned dance and sing-along. The Argyle House (formerly Fannys) is the place to go if you want to end the night with loud dance music and epic DJs. The Argyle is more for the people that haven’t had enough of the night and want to push it into overdrive, it’s a great way to make sure your night keeps going until you make the choice to call it a quits. The Argyle House does have a ridiculously strickt dress code and isn’t too fond of letting people in who they suspect have come from another pub, so play it cool don’t try any funny stuff in the line on the way in. Try and save the dance moves for when your inside.

So even though this night out includes some of the Newcastle favourites, it also includes some places you may not have tried. So give these a go and your sure to have one of your best nights in town. If you have your own epic pub map then leave a comment and share it with the world, lets uncover some more of Newcastles drinking gems.
