Four Point Gallery: Photography exhibition not to be missed
John Lechner, a Hunter Valley based photographer, will be presenting his Iceland Collection at Newcastle’s Four Point Gallery on Saturday 18th October.
The exhibition will feature Lechner’s exquisite 24-piece fine-art collection, one he has described as forging his new path as an artist and fulfilling his dream.
Lechner has only recently entered the world of photography, but his journey to Iceland just a few months ago saw him traveling with his photography gear in tow, to a country he describes as fantasy land.
The image below, titled The Ice Dragon is an ice formation that Lechner stumbled across on the beach of Jökulsárlón.
“Iceland has always been in my top five places to shoot with its stunning natural beauty and contrasting landscapes. It is a fantasy land of snow and ice, volcanoes and glaciers. A stark contrast,” said Lechner.
Lechner also told UrbanInsider that his Iceland Collection was inspired by the “loneliness, isolation and pure beauty of the country.”
“I spoke to very few people there in my two weeks. Much of the time it was because I was so immersed in the landscape, I had all the company I needed,” he said.
Lechner’s work is enhanced by his love for travel and he believes that entering foreign countries with the fresh eyes of an inquisitive traveler, enables him to capture what many can only dream of.

The Iceland Collection exhibition will launch on Saturday 18th October, 2014 at Four Point Gallery, 681 Hunter Street, Newcastle. The exhibition will feature a collection of limited edition and open edition fine art prints for sale.
