Fat As Butter: 2nd Lineup Announced
You’ve waited. You’ve wanted. Now, as promised Fat As Butter delivers the second artist announcement, expanding FAB’s already delectable line-up. The Rubens, Bluejuice, Glass Towers, Kilter and Super Best Friends will join the bill, in an unprecedented fun-in-the-sun experience – but that isn’t all. Fat As Butter is proud to announce a partnership with music streaming service Deezer,as well as continued partnerships once again with Youth Rockin’ The Black Dog band comp and triple j unearthed.
THE RUBENS have fast become festival music faves and icons on the Australian music scene – you may remember a little anthem by the name of My Gun that was nominated for Best Video at the 2012 ARIA Awards and landed at a respectable #10 on triple j’s Hottest 100 2013. With an album that soared to #1 on the iTunes chart and a truly rockin’ live show, THE RUBENS are set to kill the FAB stage with their trademark charm.
With their screaming soaring mix of pop, rock, hip hop, electro and disco, BLUEJUICE are set to join their fellow Act Your Age collaborators BLISS N ESO on the FAB line up! With a litter of hit singles and beloved albums in their wake, BLUEJUICE will tear it up with their aggressive but awesomely danceable punk-hop – and don’t be surprised if life imitates art on the FAB stage!
Indie rock kings GLASS TOWERS have been breaking hearts and slaying stages all over the country since the release of their debut album Halcyon Days, earning massive spins on triple j, the coveted Triple J Feature Album spot, and an impressive 4 stars out of 5 and the title of Band to Watch from Rolling Stone. They are a welcome addition to the FAB stage, for those who’d prefer to rock.
The party don’t stop with the addition of KILTER to the FAB line-up. With the Australian electronic scene going from strength to strength, KILTER is a force to be reckoned with, Kilter’s remix of the Ben Pearce track What I Might Do (etcetc/MTA) has been added to an A rotation on Sydney’s FBi and is receiving international attention getting spun on BBC Radio 1 and recently hitting the top spot on Hype Machine. His skilful production and tricky samples are set to bring the house down.
Rounding out the last of the second line-up announce is Canberra’s SUPER BEST FRIENDS, who you may know as the punk trio whose stylings are so righteous they even made our favourite politicians rock out in their iconic video for Round and Round. Riotous, raw, purveyors of what Blunt so aptly termed ‘outraged party rock’ and ‘maximum headbangability’ and friends of the world, SUPER BEST FRIENDS will rock this joint.
We are also thrilled to announce a partnership with streaming music service Deezer, to deliver fans this year’s official FAT AS BUTTER music content. As one of the worlds leading streaming services, Deezer has over 25 million tracks, instantly available on any device in 182 countries, allowing punters to listen, share and save playlists and albums from artists on this years lineup. The heats are taking place throughout September, at The Loft Youth Arts and Cultural Centre, with the grand final going down at Lizotte’s on October 9 – keep your ears open for further deets!
The final bit of tastiness is that the winner of this year’s triple j Unearthed FAB competition will be storming the stage with the rest of the line-up – keep your eyes peeled for further deets and dates!
