5 things to do Other Than Watch State of Origin
Newcastle is a town that loves its rugby, and when the State of Origin rolls around and the final game is a tiebreaker the entire town comes to a stop, goes to the pub and spends the night glued to the screen. Well, most of the town. The soccer players, the not very sporty, the out-of-towners and the union players are all left at home with nothing to do. You can’t watch TV because the stations go into submission and play continual re-runs of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, you can’t go on Facebook because all your friends are ranting about the game on your feed and can’t go to your favourite pub because it’s packed out with randoms fighting for a view of the TV. Well worry no more, the Urban Insider has done the impossible and made a list of the best non-origin related events Newcastle has to offer to make sure you don’t have to spend your night watching rugby and asking people the rules.
